NPR Luminous – Panel Discussion
The news about psychedelics tends to focus on clinical trials and lab research. But there’s a long tradition of underground guides working with plant medicines who talk about "unseen beings" and plants as "teachers." Psychologist Rachel Harris did a series of interviews with women elders in the psychedelic underground. She calls them "spiritual warriors," and says they have an entirely different approach than the psychedelic guides in clinical studies.

Interview with New World Library
New World Library has been publishing books that inspire and challenge us to improve the quality of our lives and our world for over 35-years.
Psychologist Rachel Harris, PhD, introduces her book SWIMMING IN THE SACRED: Wisdom from the Psychedelic Underground, which takes a revelatory look at a previously unseen world behind today's psychedelic renaissance.
Rachel describes how she interviewed women elders who have been working underground for at least twenty years and some of them up to forty years. She contrasts their perspective of working with these medicines in a sacred way across a lifetime versus the medical research approach designed to be cost-effective and reduce symptoms.
